System Map
The map represents a fictitious urban to suburban area somewhere in the Northeast, USA. To make the map, I started with a prototype map of the the New Jersey Transit Rail System and used Photoshop to overdraw a map that was more generic and with my made up cities, towns and railroads.
Goals were to:
- Look like a typical Northeastern coastal area without being specific.
- Generally match a straightened out track plan schematic.
- Accurately follow the placement of modeled locations.
- Show off-layout staging as logically located destinations.
- Fill in the map with destinations that can be used on waybills.

The highlighted tone represents the modeled area.
